Scopa is an Italian trick-taking card game, and propably the major national card games in Italy. It is played with a standard Italian 40-card deck, mostly between two players or four players in two partnerships. The name is an Italian verb meaning “to sweep”, as “taking a scopa” means “to sweep” all the cards from the pool.
It is by far the most popular skill game, we estimate Scopa to make well more than 50% of this market alone.
Burraco and Tresette Rummy, Italian style
Burraco is a Rummy-type card game for two or four players in fixed partnerships in which the aim is to lay down combinations in groups of cards of equal rank and suit sequences, thereby yielding a bonus for combinations of seven cards or more. Its name cames from from the Portuguese word “buraco” which means “hole”, applied to the minus score of any of the two partnerships.
Burraco is a very popular game in Italy with millions of players enjoying the game on regular basis.. Even if not reaching the revenue levels of Scopa, Burraco allows you to reach different targets. We will soon add to Burraco, Scala40, a similar game played in some areas of Italian peninsula.
